Good to hear things are better for all three brands.

It won't last. People are excited about American vehicles right now but reliability and customer service are the attributes that decide the company's fate in the long run. Only Ford has that fixed. Expect GM and Chrysler to need another bailout around 2017-2020.

I really hope this is not true...

Disagree. I am more optimistic. My new JKU has had terrific initial quality so far. I felt like I was treated very fairly at the dealership.

I have to applaud the head of Fiat. He got President Obama to basically give them Chrysler for the promise of sharing Fiat's small engine technology. Remeber when Obama was on that "Americans only want small fuel efficient cars" kick?

Fiat has streamlined the lineups and kept the fun factor. Now you can even get a minivan with a 285HP pentastar. It has more power than my 1992 RS Camaro had. You can get a Hemi in nearly all of their cars and even a bigger one in the SRT line. Rams are impressive trucks as well and look what they have done with the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. Both much improved while holding to their off roading roots.

Fiat is also keeping true to Dodge & Chrysler Heritage.

I was worried when the deal was going through that Fiat would be dumping all the fun powerful cars and trucks (good bye hemi engines!) while rebadging Fiat 500s as Chargers or 300s.

Well I am glad Obama was wrong. Strong sales increases are not from econo boxes as predicted.

My 2012 Wrangler has been very good quality wise but there have been many horror stories and reporting data backs it up. So I just need Fiat/Chrysler to improve quality plus customer service and I may not have to purchase from any other company in the future.

Based on what I read in industry publications, I wouldn't be surprised if GM tanks again. All the early signs are there.....

I hope you guys are right about quality being higher now. I'm skeptical because the JK's, and future Jeeps I'm sure, are no longer completely rugged and purpose built. They share things with vehicles that aren't as rugged. For example, the Cherokee shares a platform with the Dodge Dart, the Patriot shared a platform with the Caliber, and the JK's Pentastar is shared with multiple non-offroad vehicles. The transmissions are also shared. These are street components being thrown onto an offroad vehicle that people throw at rocks, dust, and water.

I hope you guys are right and I hope I'm just overly pesimistic but it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

My wrangler has more horsepower than my 1991 Z28!!

I too am glad too have helped. And if everything continues as well as it has, I'll do it again (while never getting rid of Gethin) in 2017.

I'm excited for the new Cherokee. I thinks it's a suburb vehicle. That said, I don't buy automatics. Will remain in the wrangler club. Rubi next time.

I can proudly say I did NOT help out Chrysler as I bought my JKU at Carmax. Give them a few years and their ridiculous labor contracts will once again bankrupt the company.

Funny because my GM cars have been the most reliable that I have owned and they are doing lots of things in the customer service area as well. My daughters car got free oil changes for a year...its 11 years old and my other GM got free oil changes for 2 years these were out of the blue not part of the purchase. I have been pretty impressed with the effort to keep current customers...of course they still lost me since they don't make a Jeep

I think except Mitsubishi which I really don't know what good they can offer, every manufacturers are picking up. Too sad, I like my 1st gen Eclipse and really dig the 3000GT.
