wrangler fog lights

i do not claim to know everything about jeeps. i have a nice 2008 wrangler x with a 3.8l motor. my problem is that my fog lights are really dim and need to be replaced. i took them off today and to my suprise there are no numbers or model stated any where. all i found was on the front of the bulb where is said super sport.on the rear it has 2 flat connectors. could someone please let me know what bulbs i need? thank you for your time and help.

Take the bulb in a parts store ...they can tell you ....if its a stock fog lamp you can look it up on the autozone app for a smart phone

Why not swap them over to a pair of Dually's, then you REALLY light up the world!

I haven't looked myself but this from the '13 owner's manual. I'd doubt it's changed during the JK run. But you could always call the dealer parts dept and ask...

Front Fog Lamp

  1. Reach under the vehicle to access the back of the front fog lamp.
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the front fog lamp connector receptacle.
  3. Firmly grasp the bulb by the two latch features and squeeze them together to unlock the bulb from the back of the front fog lamp housing.
  4. Pull the bulb straight out from the keyed opening in the housing and then connect the replacement bulb
It says that the bulb # is PSX24W

The bulb is an H10 and PiAA makes this in a Xtreme white plus. A little pricey but worth it in IMHO. Silvania also makes this bulb in a Silver star.

Is the draw from these bulbs the same as Halogen H10 or do you have to add a resistor harness.
If the draw is not the same the TIPM will shut the circuit down.

They changed the bulb type in 11 or 12. I know 2012 has the new peanut looking little bulb thats in a holder. The 08s use a 894 or 884 ( I think it's an 800 series bulb)

Are these 30w LED's plug & play? How is the light output compared to stock?

(Chrysler skimped again when they put the factory housings and bulbs in. Cheapest and lowest wattage available I'm sure.) I googled the PSX24W bulb and have read on multiple Chrysler product forums that these are the 'bottom of the barrel' low wattage bulbs that allowed the use of cheap plastic housings

Short answer: plug and play
Long answer: The only thing that I did was squeeze the clips to pull out the second of the old lights, I did not realize that the tabs i could see on the first one were designed to do this so I pried them off and broke them then squeezed the tabs. After that I pushed the new bulb in, aligned the quick disconnect and pushed it onto the light. The bulbs are a direct replacement. I was incredibly surprised that I didn't have to cut, trim, massage, adapt or do any other of the number of things I've had to do to remove weakness from my wrangler in order to get them to work.

Light output? Are they more intense (brighter) or just the 'whiter but same or less light' phenomenon?

I did the "whiter" bulb thing on an earlier vehicle and took them out as they weren't brighter and were horrible in bad weather (rain, fog, snow). Just fooled you to think they were brighter due to the light color. If the LED's aren't considerably brighter, I won't change.
