Hey

I have a 2013 Commando Green 4 door wrangler

i want to upgrade my grill on the front and make it matte black... i have a couple options it seems...

I can paint it (pass)

I can buy a matte black grill cover for $200 (Barricade Matte Black Wrangler Grille Guard Cover J100721 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping)

Or... I can buy a New grill... i found one on craigslist for $45... the guy says he replaced it with a cooler aftermarket one
(Wrangler grill 2007-2016)
***Please dont front run me and buy that grill on craigslist...

Let me know what you guys think

im new to the forum... bot my wrangler about 8 mos ago and love it...

Buy the grille on CL and hit it with spray bedliner. I bought mine for more than you did and hit it with spray can bedliner and I like the results. Been like this for a year and holding strong. It's been on for 12k miles and through many power washes. Plastidip would likely not stand up to all that abuse.

Only thing about bedlining them is it isn't permanent and will need to be touched up, probably at about the the year mark. Its tough to get it to stick to plastic. Haven't heard any success stories out of it, especially if you get on the trails and have brush hitting against it. I had my fenders professionally line-xed And it didn't last

I guess I'm missing something about this plastidip craze.
Yes it's removable, but the question of how easily is up for debate from what I read here.
It seems to me a moderate/light sanding and a different color of paint is lots easier and more durable.
