"Wrangler" letters on hood

Saw a JK online that has "Wrangler" on either side of the hood, where the Rubicon would go if it were a Rubicon. I didn't see anything on the window sticker showing this as an option. Is this some kind of aftermarket sticker that could be removed?

Charles.

Yep.

From someplace like PixelDecals.com.

I don't want them. They're on a brand new wrangler that I am considering purchasing. I want to know if I can peel them off, they don't look very nice.

Yes, they are just stickers. Use a hairdryer to heat up the stickers so the adhesive comes up easier. GooGone or WD40 will remove any residue. Just make sure you hit the area with a sealant/wax after you remove them.

Whether that specific lettering can be peeled off easily depends (obviously) on what, exactly, it's made of and how it's affixed to the jeep.

I suppose for example a dealer could choose to paint lettering on a jeep with a stencil. That would plainly be very hard to remove.

But chances are it's just a decal made of automotive vinyl, like what's available from the website I linked earlier. If so, it'll just peel right off. Perhaps a bit of WD-40 or some GooGone to clean off any residue, and there you have it.

Tell the dealer to remove it as part of the deal

^ THIS.

Make it the dealers responsibility because if they screw it up, they get to fix it.

Good idea. All I have to do now is wait and see if they'll transfer it from FL to NC...

Probably just a decal...you can get them almost anywhere with whatever you want them to say.
Have the dealer remove it.
I pulled my standard Sahara decal off the side and put Sahara on my hood instead.

I think SAHARA is cool, like RUBICON, but I agree a plain 'old "WRANGLER" emblem is pretty lame. (no offense to the people on this board that have that emblem)

There is a dealer in Tampa that puts them on. They put 4x4 on my daughters, glad to know its 4x4. For a few years Jeep made 2 wheel drive.

Mine is still running bare, but I'll say I like variety I wouldn't want all the Jeeps to look the same. Rubicon, Wrangler, Sahara, Military Numbers, all good in my book. Personalize and Customize!
