Good to hear although I don't understand why the Toyota FJ Cruiser is #1. That thing just looks horrid.

It does! But Toyota is one of the most reliable Automotive companies out there, even though it is a FACT that the FJ has had problems in the past few years. The Wrangler has always been a leader in resale, espeacially the Rubicon. Its a nice thought that we still have that high resale.

I am glad to see the Wrangler there.

So much for Toyota's sticking gas pedal fiasco. It has 6 models in the top 10. Wow!

Honda has 2 and Porche 1.

My worst 2 quality vehicles I have ever owned (from new) were both Chrysler products yet here I am again. I have owned 5, all 5 were fun.

The best quality and reliabilty (but boring) were Hondas(Owned 3) and Toyotas (owned 2).

1 Ford and 3 Chevys fell in between.

I've had 9 vehicles during the last 22 years... 3 of them have been Jeeps. I just keep coming back!

The Wrangler has been the top Us vehicle for several years. Nothing is in its class!

Seems to me you never heard of 2-3 biggest recalls in history of auto industry which happened in last couple of years. Courtesy of that one of the "most reliable" automotive companies - Toyota.
If they are so "reliable" how come they broke all records EVER in recalls ?

I mean they usually don't have problems. The issue is when they do it's a realllllllly big problem.

As much as I dislike Toyota it was a really minor problem that was blown out of proportion and for one year they took a really huge hit for it. But their vehicles just keep going and going.

As for the Wrangler, buying one new is not a stupid thing considering their residual value is so high. I couldn't justify buying a 5 year old Jeep with 60,000 miles for only $5k less than a brand new one! Compare that to ANY other used car and you'd be hard pressed to find one like that--including many of the vehicles on this list!

This is my first Jeep but it's good to know there is a strong resale market for them.

Off hand with out googling it,my answer to your question would be they broke those records due to a problem with vehicles that happen to also be the best selling.when your the biggest you fall the hardest.

I'm not challenging your statement but I wonder how it compared to the pinto rear ends and fiero's catching on fire? Both were before I was born so I have no idea

That playbook is the same.... if it's not a safety issue, fix them one at a time and then obsolete the motor during the next development cycle. Toyota has done this before. In Chrysler's case, the integrated exhaust manifold in-head design.

Return of a proven exhaust scavenging system could make this a world class motor.

The Wranglers sell in the summer because they're convertibles, and they sell in the winter because they're 4-wheel-drive. They also sell because of their historical cache and the fact that in comparison to the competition, they are built very tough. Very unique vehicles.

Oh i have heard of all the recalls they had. The not-working brakes? Who can forget that! But honestly, as much as i dislike Toyota, i would still call them very reliable. Sure they had their problems, and i wouldnt get a newer one, (hell no), but over all, they are (or atleast WERE) a very reliable brand. The newer vehicle they put out now, yuck. Ill give you that!
