I would not worry one second about it. I have over 16000 miles on mine and got the recall notice today. I checked it out and the lines are not even close to rubbing and no witness marks to show they ever were.

Can someone post where these lines are? I saw the earlier pic that's up close, but don't know where to look?

Yesterday

I got mine yesterday. It is for a Safety Recall N28 / NHTSA 13V-234 Transmission Oil Cooler Tube. I called up my Jeep dealership and they don't even have the part yet. They did put me on a waiting list and said they would call me when they received the part.

Ya went in and the dealer said they have no parts for this yet ... but you can have the dealer run your VIN and that will determine if you are eligible for the recall when they do get parts.

Yep mine arrived yesterday, luckily my jeep is already in the shop so I'll ask & see if the parts are available. Doubt it but who knows?

So, if we have the rubber thingies (I know, hi-techy term), we are ok? Or there is still an issue?

Here is what mine looks like:

Nevermind, I see the trans line doesn't have one, so I guess it needs one.

Just go get some rubber hose and cover those lines.

Had a friend who is a dealership " A" level mechanic( highest certified) look mine over , all over, and the Trans Cooler Line and Power Steering Fluid Return line are plenty far apart and not in any danger of rubbing .

His advice to me was to either not do it or ask to see the part and for them to show where it's rubbing .

The last thing I want is some bozo doing a rush job, placing a few scratches in the paint or greasing up my seat or rug.

Yup, I'm a pessimist - 45 years of buying cars and I've only been satisfied when my friend works on my car because he's old school- neat and accurate.
He tells me the young mechanics at his dealership are busy texting, tweeting or playing with their smart phones during jobs !

SO...Your "A" level mechanic advises to ignore a factory recall? Wow...I doubt that he is an "A" level mechanic at all! You don't take it in...something happens...It's all on YOU! (or him)
