At allpar.com under 2014 models. Wrangler carries on essentially unchanged until the summer 2016, when it comes out in three different redesigned forms. This is odd, do you buy now or wait until the summer of 2016, when you can get an all new wrangler design?

Then again, the old saying goes like this.. "Good things come to those who wait."

Maybe the 2017 Wrangler (debuting in summer 2016 like we've talked about for a long long time now) will have options like a CRD engine, no-leak solid roof or one piece roof, more towing, etc. etc.. who knows? If somebody is saving cash and wants to buy a new Wrangler only ONCE and drive it forever...waiting at this point might not be a horrible idea.

Conversely, the 2017 could be a unibody, without solid axles and a gutless wonder. Google the "Fiat Panda". Hopefully the Wrangler does not go in that direction.

I would be all for a smaller Wrangler, but not if it is like that. I won't drive something derived from something else named "Panda".

Hi

It seems that 2014 export wranglers will get the new 3.0 Pentastar. Just speculation from me but with 8 speed auto, multi air, turbo and other new stuff it might get close to the pentastar 3.6 or over with lower fuel cost in the future.

"Three 2014 cars will get the 3.0 liter V6, all export versions (the 3.0 was developed primarily to avoid high displacement taxes): the 300C/Thema, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited."

It might be an option for US buyers, who knows.

Rumors and Future Chrysler Pentastar Engines

Buy now. If they have something you like, get it. I put off buying one for a few years and couldn't get the color I originally wanted. I was a little disappointed when I found out, but now I am very happy with my Rock Lobster.

It is too much fun not to get one when you can.

Oh, and by the way, I DID buy a YJ to tide me over until I could get a 4-Door. The YJ is still going strong and is loads of fun.

The 2017 model year, should give us the chose of a wrangler mini jeep, wrangler truck, and the normal wrangler versions, they should be lighter hoping get better fuel mileage ,and have the options of a 9 speed trans and a diesels engine + a new 3.2 penastar as well as the current 3.6. Note allpar.com has removed all ref to my first post not wanting to hurt wrangler sales. If you read the above posts, its was not needed, knowone wants to wait 3 years for the new wrangler redesign.
