Wrangler Underseat Storage-2012 JK

Anybody have anything in under seat storage that fits a 2012 Wrangler? Please don't reply if its not specific to a 2012. Thanks.

I bought a Bestop underseat box, for my 12' JK, and found that my JK tip forward type seat mechanism would not allow it to fit under the seat..

^ Exactly. I have a 2012 JK and wanted an under seat lock box, but was told that none will fit the 2012 JK. I went with a console mounted one.

I just bought one (Bestop under driver's seat lockbox) and they (now) have on the site that it won't fit the newer Wranglers. Anyone have any ideas on JUST buying a more robust center console top? There's not a lot out there for JK center consoles, and I'm looking for a top that a kid with a Tinker Toy won't be able to break open.

Thoughts?

I've been looking around and come to the conclusion that the prices on some of these are just plain stupid. What a giant rip for what you get. I see a couple of ammo boxes that I can adapt and bolt into the rear or to the tailgate. As well I see some lockable gun safes as well as other portable storage devices that would work as well, some with key locks and digital locks. All under $75. I know you get what you pay for but, if somebody wants what you have bad enough, they'll find a way to get it.

While I can understand your point, to me the Bestops were a good compromise. I know the Tuffy's are the best but @$220 for the pair, its too much. For about $110 I got both Bestops adding plenty of room, I didn't have to drill into my JK at all and I can return to stock at anytime. Plus they really are out of sight so unless someone is really digging through your Jeep they may never see it.

I do agree if someone really wants something, they will get it.

Please check the original post, You have a 2010, I'm not interested in what fits other models or years, I know what will work in those. The post is for the 2012 model year only. Thank you.

I bought an under seat storage drawer for my previous TJ Rubi.
It was a fine product and easy to install etc. BUT it did raise the rear seat some 5-6" and when i sat in the back, my head could easily smack the sound bar if it were driven - under even moderately hard braking. I'm not tall either, at 5'11 ... So I had to remove it...that was $250 wasted.

I have one of these under my 2012 seat. It's $20.00 and the cable goes around the seat bracket and locks inside the box. I keep my gun in it most.

Looks good. I found this as a temporary fix. Fits in the space under the rear cargo floor mat out of sight, has a cable lock, key and combination lock as well. I could even bolt it to the tailgate. Found it at Staples Office Supply. $29.

I have this in my 2012 Unlimited, and that's with leather/heated seats. This fits the driver's side, and to my knowledge this should be exactly the same on a SWB JK.

They just added a passenger-side model, but I haven't looked at it yet. There could be considerations on the SWB model if your seat tilts and slides for rear seat ingress, so read up before you buy.

I've had Tuffy in both this JK and my previous TJ, the storage is secure, they will match keys to multiple solutions, and are the best of the best.
