I also bought the skid plate that goes underneath the bumper but I may have to do some cutting on the lower front crossmember to do the install.

It's about the same as the stock bumper. It may be a little heavier but not by much. The skid plate weighs a ton though. I still debating on whether or not to put it on.

So how do you like it? Fit, finish, and overall quality? How easy was the install? Would you buy it again?

I like it a lot. Very good quality. Looks like it belongs there. Looks better in person. Photos don't do it justice. I did the install alone. Look most things that are supposed to bolt right on it wasn't that simple. First off you cant put the bumper on with both end caps on. I had to take one off to get the bumper lined up. Then it was a joke trying to get the end cap on with the bumper in place. Also, there isn't a whole lot of room to work with behind the bumper to install the brackets behind the bumper and line up the bolts through the face of the bumper. Getting the plastic shield off was ridiculously hard. The little push clips have a little screw in the center of them much like a dry wall hanger does to keep it from pulling out. Well these little screws just spin and don't come out making nearly impossible to take out the push clip. I had to battle every damn one to get them out. I destroyed all but one getting them out. It took way longer than it should have but it was well worth it. Looks awesome. Makes it look totally different compared to the stock bumper.

cool, i wanted to double check because i recognized the name, but the middle section looks slightly different than the one on the quadratec magazine. I love the look, but the quality (solely because of price) worried me a little. any thoughts? i think the only thing preventing me from being completely in love with it is that it does not have a stinger bar option, unless im misinformed.

I wish they have made a mid-width option for the XHD Aluminum which I would have got one. And better if they make the steel and aluminum XHD parts can mix and match to my preference.

I'm not sure but I'm going to check and see if you can use the steel bumpers hoop over rider. That would at least give you a 2nd option for a different look. Over all I'm really happy with it because I did want a stubby bumper. The Poison Spyder is a really nice option but I'm not running a winch and I thought it stuck out way to far and looks funny with no winch mounted on it.

It is a quality bumper that's for sure. I have nothing bad to say about it except for the price. If you hunt around you can probably get if for between $900 to $1000 range. I had it priced out on Amazon for under a grand but that was getting the pieces from different suppliers. I paid over $1000 because I did not order it online. I went to local dealer suffering from I have to have it now syndrome. I live in PA so I would have had to pay sales tax from Quadratec. I actually called them and asked if they could discount it at all to cover the sales tax. They said no so I told them I would take my business to a local store. The difference at that point was minor so I'd rather give my money to a local store. Having said all that. The price for any of these bumper is ridiculous. It is however in line with most bumper prices. All these bumpers are very simple parts. So the 1000 + price tag seems a bit extreme to me. I showed my new bumper to a buddy of mine who isn't into Jeeps and couldn't believe how much I paid for it. He thought it looked really cool but thought I was crazy for paying over a grand for it. He might be right.

As far a the stinger option there is none. I would look into Poison Spyder. They make a really nice bumper but like I posted previously, you really need to run a winch on those bumper. They stick out so far the gap on top looks funny if you don't run a winch.

I had this on my old rig. The only thing I didn't like is that there's no where to hang a front plate (which is required for NY) without the winch plate. The bumper is definitely lighter that the stock bumper if you weight it with the metal insert in the stock bumper. The end caps were a pain in the butt. I ened up not using them. I was also pissed that the the overider bar (which sold me on this bumper) couldn't be used with the Warn winch I was running.

If you like the front bumper, you'll like the matching rear alluminum bumper.

thanks Vin. picking them both up today: front/rear but without overrider bar. I'll get that when I get a winch. hopefully the reports about installing with one cap on first will make install easier.?

Yes, My problem was that I had to take off and put on my bumper a few times trying to get the winch on with the Overrider bar, taking off and putting on the end caps really sucked.

I should be getting mine in Tuesday and I can't wait, especially after seeing these photos. I did a little weight research to see how much of a gain I would have after removing factory bumpers and adding these. This is what I came up with:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...HI5SHpjb1FJWEE

If you see an errors in that, please let me know.

That won't work for the Alluminum bumper.

Oh, I see, my mistake. I like the looks of that smaller stinger, its slick. Now will that work with the steel bumper or just the aluminum version?
