XRC Bumper, Tire Carrier & Hi Lift Jack - Mounting Ideas

So I (on impulse) picked up a 54" high lift jack during an offroad excursion not too long ago. I know there are those who say they are a waste of money - so, all that aside - I have it & am keeping it. Now, I need to find a place to put the darn thing.

I have a 2012 JK (2 door)

I have the Smittybilt XRC rear bumper with tire carrier.

I have both soft & hard tops.

Has anyone with this bumper & tire carrier made a decent storage solution?

When I try to "line it up" and "eyeball" it anywhere on the rear - nothing seems like it would work right. Either it's too long, or there's just not enough real estate to fashion some sort of mount.

I'm "considering" the hood mounts - although I understand that my washer fluid nozzle will be blocked (most likely) and need to be re-routed/re-installed in better locations. I'm also concerned by the weight of the hood mount. It just doesn't seem sensible to me.

Sooooo - where else can I put this stinking thing? I see things like the Smittybilt iRack where you mount a plate to the spare tire & stick the jack and whatever else you want to haul (cans, shovel, etc) - but I'm not crazy about extending the rear of my vehicle even more (plus I like the look of that wheel back there) or the $130 price tag.

Horizontal bumper mounting is a possibility, but I'm thinking I'll be bashing that thing on lips of holes & rocks while offroading. And, I'm not crazy about drilling 4 holes for a mount system in fairly new bumpers.

Inside the vehicle isn't going to work due to it's size & the fact that my behind-the-rear-seat space is being taken up with a custom subwoofer...

Yeah - my options seem pretty limited, don't they? Anyone have any better ideas??? I'm on this one...

Hi. My name is Mike. I have mounted my hi-lift on hood you my be able to see in picture. I also bought the neoprene boot cover. You are right on the windshield fluid but you know what i honestly have not needed it. I think beceause the glass is straight verses rounded like car. I have went through 2 winters and no problem. And the hood still lifts high enough for rod to hold it open.

A fellow NE Ohio'er - Hi ya Mike! Thanks for the reply. That may be my best option...I'll have to see. I know this past weekend I was out at Southington (I assume you're familiar with that place?) and saw a few different setup while I was wheeling, but didn't have time to check them out up close & personal...

Yes familiar with Southington. I qas not able to make this event. I do hear there was a large group of people and events? I am not sure how to send pictures. I think i will have to do it from computer as there is no option from phone. This way you can see the hi-lift on hood. I like it and have had not one problem. I also receive nothing but compliments.
