Xtreme 4x4 Synthetic Purple Diff fluid

Anyone see Xtreme 4x4 TV show today? They changed diff and Trans fluid to Purple Synthetic fluids and then put it on a Dyno and saw a 10 ft lb increase in torque across most of the power band. They said it was because of reduced friction.

Anyone heard of this type of improvement from fluid changes?

If it's on TV, the product manufacturer is likely paying the show to use it and show the torque benefit. Fluid may not be cause of increased torque, but other undisclosed reason (started with low power ethanol and switched to pure gasoline; raised tire air pressure to reduce drag; changed calibration on dyno.
I read somewhere on one of the Jeep forums, that synthetic diff. fluids use voids warranties on some aftermarket diff. because the fluids molecular structure doesn't remove heat efficiently from the gears, which leads to gear breakage. Something to research more before changing fluids.

On the show they changed all the oils, engine, diff, transmission and transfer case. It might be true, who knows. Well, I don't, but it was interesting.
