York OBA for 3.6 Wrangler

Haven't seen this yet but here it is =>

Sales rep told me today that this should be ready for the 3.6L Wranglers 2012/2013 within the next two weeks...

Compatable with York F210's

"We are just getting ready to release this, our website/store hasn't caught up and is not yet ready to go, but its close, which i why you don't see much out there.

More on our facebook at OffRoadOnly ORO | Facebook

The most unique part is our ORO Direct Drive Coupler, which takes the process of driving the clutch pulley on the compressor, and simply slip fits into the harmonic balancer, similar to a love joy connector, and then the compressor hangs off the front of the engine, fitting perfectly in the opening."

Here are some pics he sent me.

That's awesome. I have used the electric ones, and I still have one I had in my previous truck (and it was the highest output model available pretty much), but they can't match the air these things can put out. I'd be very interested in this.

Did you get any pricing info?

Yikes, $1700 is about three times what I would have guessed. I don't know how these Jeep accessory prices are justified most of the time, but apparently people are willing to keep paying the prices.

$530 for just the mounting bracket, bolts, and special pulley attachment. I'm sure there is some engineering costs in there. I don't know if I'm willing to pay that price but props to them for figuring it all out!

Doesn't this strike anyone as a dumb idea? Why would you want to hook something directly to the harmonic balancer? Seems like it would throw off the "balance" and I'll bet void your engine warranty.

Too bad there are no belt driven systems yet, because I love my York, but it looks like I'll have to sell it to pay for an electric system.

Looks like an air compressor to me.

An engine driven air compressor. Powerful as all hell and produce all the air you would ever need. I would LOVE to have one, but messing around with a harmonic balancer is a surefire way to obliterate your engine warranty. If someone figures out a way to add a pulley with a longer belt (like a supercharger) they would have my money. It would be nice to have a 285HP air compressor.

Gotcha, thanks.
