Zeroing in on my configuration 2014 Rubie

Getting close, after looking at several Wranglers, 2/4, loading them up on build configurations, beating up dealers on price locally, I think I have finally come up with my ideal configuration/price. I was stuck on the X for awhile, looked at the 4 door, had a loaded one coming and had a great price lined up with the dealer but had the sticker shock!

2014 2 Door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
Amp'd
Black and Dark Saddle Interior
5 Speed Auto
4.10 Gears
Dual Top Group
Trailer Tow
Side Airbag Seats
Engine Block Heater
Deep Tint Sunscreen Windows
Connectivity Group

I think this is the best configuration for my money, will wait and see what the price is, sent to the dealer for the price tonight.

It has the safety of the additional side air bags, dual tops, black fenders, 4,10 gears automatic, base radio but has the steering wheel controls.

It can be upgraded later, skipping the heated seats, people are complaining they suck compared to other cars that have with heated seats or they are sometimes working great other times not, can add later, if the complaints weren't out there I would get it, my Subie has great heated seats, was expecting similar on wrangler.

The remote start is 500 but have to add power windows, ect, can get it installed locally, roll up windows on this configuration, no leather in this configuration, again, could add better leather or seat covers, many options, had wetsuit seat covers on mine TJ.

Got both tops, premium soft top and three piece hardtop, got the amp'd color, got the hitch, it was 295, I think it has some sway assist with it?, not sure if sway assist works with aftermarket hitch so I picked that, I also added engine block heater, its 95 bucks.

I basically wanted to get everything that made sense to get factory, not saying the power convenience package isn't worth it or the Navi's, I have 4 year old Nuvi that still truckin!

I want to get the price down, was tempted to punt the connect package, but the usb, the tire pressure, steering wheel controls, figured it would be a mistake to not get it, engine block heater, probably not needed but what the heck, as bad as this winter has been here!

Any thoughts on this configuration

Well you'd be wrong on the Power Windows, this is a 2 door Rubicon and I can order it with crank windows, and you can build it this way on Jeep.com

This may not matter to you, but maybe look at a Rubi x package or at least consider the power con group. I think in order to get the EVIC system in the Rubi you need power con group along with the connectivity group?

The only reason I mentioned the x is because it comes with the power con group, plus you get the steel bumpers that you can add a winch to, the nice hood and whatever else comes with the x package. I think it's like $2300 more than the build you have now, but hey, if you're all in with the Rubi anyways...why not go ape sh

Either way, you have a nice build! If you're gonna go without power in the 2dr rock the half doors! Unless of course that hard top is a must...

I appreciate the feedback, I have gone back and forth on X and regular Rubie, when you load them up, the X is the way to go not much price difference. My thoughts are go min on this, spend the savings on AEV bumpers, lift, Def want both tops and the gears, safety with the airbag seats, passing on the leather, the Nav, the heated seats, the automatic AC, these are things that are nice for me but not necessary.

  • Electronic Vehicle Information Center

You have good tastes, if I wasn't 6'5" I would go stick as well. I have built so many configurations, from super loaded JKU X's, to JK X's, reg Rubies, bargain basement Sports, Sport S's its a lot of info to pour over. I had a 99 TJ and I like rollup windows.

I am laser focused on either a stripped out Sport that I will mod, or get a Rubie and leave stock. My big thing is finding what options are actually worth it for me, and reading about the experiences people here have with them.

When I hear leather issues, or heated seat issues, I think that as a pass for me on those options, not even that they would be an issue but can upgrade later, the things you cant upgrade later or are cost prohibitive you put into the build/order.

Still waiting on the build price on this configuration, if you want pm you email and I will shoot it over when I get it for reference.

No biggie, this is why its good to bump ideas off the fellow Jeepers for thoughts and ideas on these orders, looking to make a move this week, then the LONG wait until my Ohio baby is born and delivered to its new parent, being from Ohio I do feel extra appreciation for the Wranglers, its too bad I didn't get a great price from a dealer near the plant.
