01 wrangler

Hey guys if I'm in the wrong forum section let me know i know how it is I'm a member on gmfullsize. But anyways i just got my first jeep ill be building up here soon once i learn more about it but i figured id ask what some legit 3 or 4" lift kits, ill probably stay away from rough country my 2011 sierra rides like shit.

Nice looking jeep. Are you looking for a full 3-4" of suspension lift or a SL combined with a bl as well?
For a combo lift, Zone or DPG ultimate kit is the way to go without a doubt.
If you're looking for full suspension lift, I'd take a look into the metalcloak 3.5" kit.

But regardless of brand, are you aware of the other necessary mods are that come along with a 4" lift on a tj?

Ya a combo lift works also an no i don't at the moment I've only had it for a few hours. Mods such as steering stabilizers shocks an what else? So combo lift is the typical budget/good ride lift for the TJ model?

First things first, start googling and doing research. There's alot you need to learn about TJ's.

And a combo lift isn't necessarily "budget" lifting. Anyone who knows what they're talking about would never call the DPG ultimate kit a budget lift. Not to say its outrageously expensive, but it is a high quality lift and has a price that reflects the quality of the parts.

And extra mods needed in order to do a full 4" lift are different that what is needed for a 2.5" lift with a 1.25"bl. So what exactly are you thinking of doing? They both open different opportunities and different mods are required for each.

However, either way you can plan on at the very least needed extended sway bar links, adj. track bar(s), possibly extended brake lines, bumpstop extensions, etc.

X2 on doing the research. I have seen too many people jump the gun and just buy what they wanted right away only to find out later that many of the components are garbage or will need to be upgraded. Take your time before buying anything. Give it a month or so before buying anything and then you will be that much more informed. Welcome to the addiction.

Oh believe me i understand it takes patience an time to do it right ill be doing the install myself, i did my 2011 sierra full suspension lift an i know this is completely different thats why I'm asking questions an researching everything before. I actually will probably go with the 2.5" lift and 1.25 bl. I just plan on running 33s on 15s so i just want a mild lift.

Its the inline 4 I'm not sure if thats looked down on in the jeep world or not but i wanted something a little better on gas then my 12.3 mpg I'm getting on the sierra. Not planning on doing any hardcore offroading but ill most def test it out an have some fun

That's exactly the attitude you need. Study and research first, then break out the wallet.

The 4 cyl is more than adequate for offroading and driving around downtown. On the highway it won't be quite as good but it'll get you where you need to go. I've got a '98 2.5L and I love it, and I'm running 33x12.5x15 Goodyear MTR's on it. A regear is somewhere in its future, but it's fine for now.

Will you post up some photos of your setup? Its crazy how 2.5" of lift is a significant difference on jeeps. I lifted my sierra 3.5 at first an didnt notice anything so i went with a full 6" lift an still was a mild lift

that looks really good I like the stance. the lift your running is a little over a grand right? I was trying to stay a little under that, there's so many options its killing me. I'm stuck between possibly rough country's n2 4" lift if its a quality lift, skyjackers 4" lift or teraflexs 3" lift then run a bodylift.

or zones 4" suspension? im struggling hard I only had about 5 choices for my truck the jeep world has me so confused with hundreds of different lift setups

I suggest saving a few grand and doing things right the first time. Higher end suspensions will ride considerably better on road

I don't mind a little rough ride and chances of me flexing or offroading probably wont happen. if I paid more and the jeep was newer id wait for a high end lift but really all I want is mild with 33s at this point.

Well i went back to the dealership because i wasnt comfortable with the rust inderneath an i came home with a 2004 tj 5 speed with 40k miles an in pristine condition. Really happy with gettle hyundia dealerhip in sarasota an there dealers. So ill be going with zones 4.25" lift an 33s

I like the rough country lift, at least the 4" N2 lift. I have installed three of these and I must say they only had one issue, the rear shock bushing worked it's way loose on one and we put it back in with some serious pressing. I will not talk negative about something that I have had no personal experience with though. I would only look for comments with other guys that have actually tried the other lifts, That would be your best bet.. Good luck with the zone.. :-)
