Unfortunately, you can't add a breather hose to the vent on a 32RH transmission.
The existing vent needs to be plugged and another vent made so an extended breather tube can be used.
I had my transmission out at the shop for another job and asked the guys to relocate the vent while they had it out.
gave them this information here..

And they ended up plugging the existing vent...

Adding a new vent on top of the housing...

Then adding an extended breather (blue hose) which I've fastened near the brake booster on the firewall.

kinda depends on the situation, water in the 32 will basically desintegrate the clutches and stop the tranny from doing her job. I wouldnt go deeper than mid tire like jeep says for our 02's untill you relocate the breather for the trans and extend other breathers. The 32 is a strong trans that will last if properly maintained, and no water in it.
