02 A/C speed control

Bought a 02 a few years ago and the lower AC speeds were a little touch and go. You could make them work by turning the knob back and forth a little. The highest speed setting always worked. Slowly it became ONLY the highest setting worked. Now none of them work. When you turn the knob no air comes out at all on any settings. I've heard it can be the resistor if the highest setting works...but now none of them do.

Any ideas?

A lot of our models do this. Mine as well. I though it was the switch. Fixed it for a week. I think someone said in a thread on here its the whole panel...

Have yet to replace mine.

You need to replace your blower motor because it is dragging and drawing too many amps.

You will discover that the blower motor resistor is burned, and so is either the speed switch, and/or various connectors in the harnesses that connect it all to the blower motor.

I suggest you examine it all, from the switches ,to every connector in the harnesses including relay, resistor, motorhead, and interconnecting harness plugs.

I also suggest you obtain all replacement parts from dealer because they have made recent changes to blower to address this problem. Have dealer parts guy order you the lastest revision to all you need replaced.
