I have read almost all of the threads on here about speakers and such but I am hoping someone can help me out with selecting the proper products I should buy. Currently the Jeep is all stock and needs a bit of replacement in the audio department. I am thinking about going with an Alpine head unit and adding one of the power packs that they sell that will up the output to 45 RMS a channel. As for the speakers I have seen from the posts on here a lot of guys have gone with Polk db651 that could possibly fit in the sound pods, and have heard that the db521 will fit in the dash. As for the sub I am trying not to add an extra amp or box and I read that a lot of guys were putting the Pyramid or Kicker 6.5" sub as a direct fit replacement. I have been talking to a car audio shop here and they are recommending I go with Hertz audio dieci speakers and that they will out perform the Polk speakers twice over with the same power to them. Any suggestions or products that you have used and have been greatly impressed with I would love to hear some ideas that could help me in my situation
Hey there, welcome to the forum and congrats on your Jeep!
I bought my jeep completely stock and redid the whole audio system. I put a sony head unit in with of course the harness built for the 04 jeep wrangler to fit in the slot, then i put 4x6 kickers in the front dash and 5.25 in the pods in the top rear. Now for the sub, I was going to install a new one in the stock spot but didnt want to bother buying a new sub when i already had a type E alpine 12 inch. I bought a amp
Power Acoustik RZ1-1500D (rz11500d) Monoblock RAZOR Class D Car Amp
to fit in the spot where the stock sub is and put the 12 inch sub in the rear seat. these pictures of the sub mounted in the seat arnt mine but it is the same thing, this is where i got my idea from.
it is amazing with the audio and love to just roll around with the top down and the doors off listening to the music nice and load!! everyone can hear it
just what I have done and love it!!
