05 Rubi Sahara Wheels

Just picked up a new to me LJ Rubihara

I have been looking for this color and stumbled on this edition. I'm planning on making a few reversible mods that does not destroy a limited run vehicle.

The wheels are painted 2 tone at the factory - is this the only model with this effect or are there a lot more than 1000 sets out there? I was thinking of selling the wheels to offset the cost of replacements & other mods as the 265 mud tires on them are worn down & I want black anyway. I don't mind storing them & will if they are hard to get, but there's no need keeping hold of big bulky items that can be replaced easily enough. Last set of Rubi Moab's i sold went for $700 which is a good chunk towards other stuff

pics of yours ??

I have a 2005 Rubicon LJ with the Sahara package but it is not the "Sahara" from the movie. It has the grey painted inset in the wheels and was an option from the factory.

mine:

The only picture i have is on my phone, & it's prehistoric so i can not get the picture off there.

Mine looks exactly the same as yours except the Sahara badge on yours looks like the stock one, mine has a star there & on the rear tire cover, as well as the series number badge inside.

I guess if the two tone rims were available for any model then they are not specific to my model only and I'll probably just sell them to offset the new ones. More space in the shed too

Holy cow! Rubicon moab rims go for 700 a set? My buddy just got an 06 rubi lj and js looking at black rims. I had no idea these rims went for that much. This two tone your talking about? Is that a special type of moab rims or are they all like that? And is the two tone what made them 700 or are the moabs 700 in general? Sorry lots of questions but this caught my eye and could be quite helpful! Haha

The ones i sold were stock Moab's from an 06 Rubi - all silver with MTR's @ 80%. Took them in exchange for a lift kit install. They sold within 1 hour of posting on Craigslist. They were in near perfect shape & it was all 5.

From what i can tell, mine are identical apart from the painted inserts. I just wanted to make sure i wouldn't regret selling them if they were hard to get without having a set painted. Now i know they were a basic option for everyone they'll be listed for sale as soon as my new ones are on.

The two tone Moab wheels are Rubihara edition only. You could sell the two tone for quite a bit, try to find another set. We don't wheel ours with the Rubihara wheels because we want to keep them pristine.

Regular Moab wheels are maybe $75-$100 a piece in good shape.

Ohh ok i gotcha. The rubihara are the two tone special ones. Ya his is just rubicon with the stock moabs in near perfect shape. The jeep only has 12k on it haha. But still 300-400 is a good bit extra money for an item he wont be using. Or close to 450-500 with the spare. Thanks for the info guys!
