06 LJ doors will not come off

Just got this LJ and I'm having way to hard of a time getting them off. PB blaster has not been working. Also when unscrewing one of the bolts some of the hing thing broke off into the bolt and isn't coming out. So now that bolt will no longer be able to go on. What can I do to get them off?

there are tons of threads on this. Most leave the bolts off because they break. As far as getting the doors off. Pur a 2 x 4 on a floor jack and lift at the bottom of the door. Don't go crazy. Put a small amount of pressure on there. Spray with blaster. Put a little more pressure and spray until it pops. Use your judgement so as not to bend the door. You could also get a friend and both of you pull and rock the door back and forth at the same time.

Ya I saw the other threads but was hoping for an answer that didn't involve a floor jack since i currently don't have one. But the plus side to all this PB blaster and WD40 is that my doors open and close so much easier

I had the same issue and broke off the bolts as well. Try this and it will work.
Move the door back and forth as you have hand on the bottom of the door and pulling up. As you move the door back and forth while pulling up, it will eventually start lifting up.

Guaranteed

Take a 2x4 6' long open door and put the board under door and on top the jeep tub. pull up on the 2x4 while opening and closing door easy. It worked for me on my junk yard pick for half doors. 2 half doors for $50.

So I got a friend to help me and we still failed. We then tried the floor jack way and that didn't work. Im pretty sure the PO cemented the doors on...

1) Open Door
2) Remove Safety Strap
3) Remove or Break off hinge nuts
4) *Roll Down Window*
5) Swing door gently open to close while lifting. If door swings PO did not cement it.
6) If still doesn't break loose gently lift front of door with floor jack and 2x4. This will work or you will roll the Jeep over.

I live by Chicago. My friend and I both agreed when we were using the floor jack that we would damage the door since the entire jeep started to lift a little

Same problem with my passenger side. I was going to try to unbolt the hinge but I guess the floor jack is worth a try. Push up on the door bottom or should I try to get to the pin itself? Concerns about the door going back on?

i've read just about every thread on this and tried every technique mentioned..still have not gotten the drivers side door off...what i've found that is real imporant is when u open and close the door can u see the pin turning..if not..i don't think you'll get them off w/out replacing the hinge itself...my mechanic couldn't even get the doors off....but good luck

Funny, I thought the same thing but as I was starting to put the jack away I noticed about 1/16" of progress. 2 min later the door was off! I coated it with silicone lube, took it on/off 3-4 times, re-coating every time. My jeep probably went 2-3 inches up on that side. I also stood on the tub sill when it was jacked up.

Not qualified to give advice but I sprayed it like crazy multiple times, and did a fair amount of open/close/up/down business prior to getting the jack involved. Good luck
