1 1/4 Receiver hitch mount

Does this mount look strong enough to tow a 17 foot aluminum Low boat with 40 HP Mariner?
I can stand on the ball with my 225 lbs and jump on it and it seems as strong or stronger than anything Iíve towed this boat with before.

looks like a POS.

get a good bumper with an integrated 2" hitch and some frame tie-in brackets.

yeah i have a hidden hitch bolted to my frame and i put my boat on it, granted my boat weighs almost 2 tons on the trailer, and the hitch has shifted to point down. i would get a bumper or get a real hitch welded onto the frame. dont bolt it, weld it

bolted on is fine, if done right. pic shown above does not qualify.

a 4.0L TJ can tow 2000lbs, that's it. for the 2.5L, it's 1000lbs. you bent your hitch because you went over the rated capacity with improper equipment....and that's just stupidity.

Yeah, don't be welding a hitch to the frame. There's absolutely no reason for it.

This whole setup is an accident waiting to happen. Improper hitch and towing a boat with the Jeep's short wheel base is just a bad combo. I would recommend trailer brakes.

My understanding is the 2.5L is only rated to tow 1000 lbs, and that means towing a toy like a jet ski.
