10-0 head lights

I left for work this morning and all of a sudden my headlights went out....still had marker lights, but no head lights. I continued on and after about 3-4 miles they popped on. Any idea what would cause this to happen? It has never happened before and they worked just fine last night. When they went out I pushed, pulled and twisted the swtich, nothing til poof there they were....

Is your headlight switch warm to the touch? Mine started doing that only after they had been on for an extended period. (30 minutes or so).

Replaced the headlight switch and have had no more problems.

If any of your aux lights are wired through your headlight switch and not through relays you are probably overheating your headlight switch. Replace the switch and remove wire all the other lights using relays.

Yep, replace the headlight switch. It's an easy job and the switch is not expensive. The same thing happened to my '97 TJ's headlights and the replacement job was much easier than I expected, it took maybe 15 minutes from start to finish with no special tools needed.

i had that issue with my headlights and it turned out that the fuse used for my hella's was damaged but not blown. all i had to do was replace that small fuse.
