1997 tj sway bar link disconnect

I bought a 1997 Wrangler last month. 115,000 miles but it's in decent shape.

All but on sweeping left hand turns. It would get pretty squirrelly.

I initially wrote it off to worn shocks. I've been doing the usual stuff with buying a used vehicle, changing all the fluids, wires, plugs, distributor, rotor... I figured I'd get to the shocks at some point.

Today I decided to take a really good look at the front end. I pulled up on the drivers side sway bar to discover the link was not attached....

You would have thought the previous owner would have installed both sway bar disconnects instead of only the one....

Same thing happened to me when I bought mine. Left sway bar link broken. I wish I knew then what I know now, I'd have bought disco's.

That's not a "disconnect" it's busted. It's a stock one and it shouldn't seperate like that, a good time to buy disconnects or just replace 'em.

I'm aware it's stock, and broken. That's why I replaced mine...I wished I replaced the stock link with a disco. Instead, I replaced both (like you should always do), with stock links, and I'm kicking myself for not spending the extra cash and getting disco's.

FYI - I took the Jeep out for a long drive tonight. It feels like a new creature with the new sway bar links.... (as you'd expect)......
