1997 TJ Gear Ratio?

I've got a 97' Tj 2.5 liter 4 banger. I am wondering what my gear ration is?
Can anyone help me, it is all stock!

Because i am getting 31" tires, and i am wondering what it is so i can either decide to change it or not.
if i should change it, what should i change it to? It is my DD and i would only occasionally take it off roading, so i would like a ratio that would be better towards Gas Mileage, but still power.

there is a metal tag attached to the differential cover that will have some numbers one being the gear ratio. It could be 3.07, 3.55, 3.73 or higher. Several people have told me that 4 cyl a lot of the time of 4.10's. I have 31's on my 03 tj with a 6cyl and 3.07's and with the 5 speed 5th gear is about worthless. Not exactly sure how it would be with 4 cyl. hope that helps a little.

4cyl should be 4:10. Try it with the 31" tires and see how you like it. If it has a stick and if it were mine and I was planning on keeping it a while, I'd probably think about regearing to 4.88 or thereabouts.

I have a 4 cylinder with 4:10 gears and 33x12.5x15 tires
and 5th gear will barely accelerate on flat ground also my speedometer
is off by 5 to 6 mph . But it doesn't bother me. it is just preference

I might regear or get smaller tires later but right now it's fine
for me.
