2.25 inch spacer lift install quote

my friend that was going to help me cant now, so im looking to get it done at a shop. a guy sent me this email..

what do you guys think as far as price, and about the brake lines...





"ok yes I have done a few of the newer wranglers.it isn't that hard but also not as simple as the paper makes it sound.you also have to relocate the brake lines where the rubber meets the steel otherwise when the suspension is at full extension it will break something.I would probably charge around $75 plus tax and it would have to be done at my shop.let me know if your interested.thanks"

I prefer doing these things myself. At least you can be sure you are getting it right. It really isn't too tough. Things like a spring compressor sure make it easier though.

Extended brake lines are a very good idea if you are going to disconnect.

This site: Budget Boost Installation Write-Up has a clear write up on installing a BB. I would recommend getting some help from a friend a doing it yourself. Once done, check your brake lines, I was able to avoid extensions on mine.

I understand how ya feel. I was scared that i would screw something up if i tried to install my 2" BB... But i ended up not having the cash to have it installed. And me wanting it in so badly drove me to just do it...

I am SO glad i did it myself. Not only was it easy but i got to know my jeep.
I think learning things you normaly dont look at was the best thing i took away from installing. Now i know how things work down there.

Are you going with new shocks also??? If not you will not get enough flex to damage the brake lines.Even with new shocks and a BB I didn't change my lines until I went with the current 4" lift in mine.Then again with the 4" lift I still ran the factory lines until I knew I was going to be disconnecting my sway bar then I changed to 4" longer stainless steel lines.As far as installing the BB it is not as hard as some make it out to be.

getting some shocks from a buddy tomorrow morning for 20 bucks. he believes they are pro comps. said they arent leaking fluid or anything.. which automatically makes them better than my current shocks, which are falling apart and leaking fluid.

i dont plan on discon any time soon.. at least not while its snowing 6-10 inches a day lol,

im getting it installed tomorrow night at that guys shop. i know him through a friend and when i talked to him today he said i could help out no problem.. so ill take alot of pics.

Your going to be happy that you did it yourself because you learn and know what is going on with your jeep.
From what i read of tiny's thread she came out of her lift happy as a pig in ... well ya know...
paying someone to install a 2" BB is like hitting yourself in the sack with a rubber mallet...

damn damn damn . went to get the shocks this morning and they are for a yj.

shoot.

gonna have to stick with stock for now.

if anyone upgrades or already has some shocks lying around ill pay shipping for a good set of cheapies.

word of advice here for ya.if your gonna buy new stock lift shocks then you should just buy the rough country 2.5 lift.ive seen it as low as $269 + shipping and it comes with new shocks and coils.
i bought my tj with a bb on already and just bought new shocks for it.well needless to say what i payed for the shocks i could have spent alittle more and just got the rc2.5 kit.

But you get what you pay for with lifts and shocks....
Do ya get #1 OME shocks or do you get a 2.5 R/C lift?
I would rather keep my kidneys intact and go with the shocks.
