Question 2.4l Cow snorkel intake help

Custom cowl (semi waterproof/cold) air intake for jeep 2.4 2003-2006 SE TJ models

Current setup is a 3inch hole drilled into the rear of the stock airbox witha flex tube to the 3inch howl into the cowl. cut off and sealed front of stock box. Now it works as is but I feel I get hesitation at a dead start in 1st like the air is taking to long or bouncing around in the tube/box.

Any ideas for a straight/curved pipe with a contained filter sort of like the cowl setup for the 4.0's? It will have to pass over the coil pack and make a 90 degree turn or I could move the hole to the left a bit.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the stock air box is the ticket

This works, and it can switch from front hood cold air to cowl

Theres a spectre inline air filter in the middle and some custom hose and fitting for the breather. Although the breather isn't filtered anymore...might have to put a piece of prefilter paper on it. Sounds nice when extended and extra loud routed to the cowl.

I just don't like the cowl idea because people that have done it have problems with snow and ice blockage. In the winter I want to get in my Jeep and get the heat going...not spend 20 mins clearing the cowl so it will run.
