2.5 Exhaust Opinions and Options

The PO of my TJ put a 12x14 random muffler on my 2.5 Wrangler. It basically sounds like a school bus. So tax money is in and I want to know, what is the best muffler for the 2.5 motor. I don't want loud!

I had a split factory muffler and took it to Midas. The Midas one is much louder and gives me a headache with its loud drone/hum on the highway. So don't do that.

You don't want loud then don't get Flowmaster. Just get a replacement at a local muffler shop, apparently stay away from Midas though. Explain to them that the one thats on there is too loud and you want something quieter.

The only reason I dont want to buy a stockish replacement is because I want a lifetime warranty. The stockish replacement has only a 1 year warranty

I bought a magnaflow catback exhaust for my 2.5L and it's supposed to come in tomorrow. Magnaflow is reputable and even recommended by my mechanic. I'll do a before and after sound clip and post it on here once everything's said and done.

Look into Banks cat back also. Its louder than stock but not deafening. Sounds good.
