2.5 TJ Gearing

Hi all, just added a 1" spacer to my 2" coils, running pretty used but good 31" Bighorns. My question is, I know I have the 4.10 gearing, but with my anemic 4 putter, should I be looking for 32" rather than 33" tires? Someone here said the 4.10's run better with a slightly larger tire. True? Kinda new to the gearing thing. Thanks for the help.

Many run both 32s and 33s just fine with the 2.5l; I'm sure you may be looking for a regear in the future, but for the time being you'll be fine.

My lifted 98 with the 2.5 and running 32's is bad weak with the stock 4.10 gears. Heck for just a little higher than a new set of good tires you could regear the thing. I am planning on doing just that sometime in the near future. I think I am going with 4.88 on mine. It sucks having to downshift on every little incline on a city road....

Yep, they aren't the most powerful things on-road, but off-road they do just fine. I'm looking at 4.88s sometime soon as well.
