Question 2 piece hardtop same as 1 piece?

Hey guys I'm looking to line up a deal with a guy who is selling his 2 piece hardtop with a broken back glass. Is it the same glass as the one piece and is the top the same shape as the one piece it looks different. If anybody had a 2 piece can you give some opinions on it? thanks

I'm not sure measure it and that might tell you. How much you getting it for depends on how good of a deal it's. The back glass can be very expensive for some reason

I can't measure it the guy is about 2 hours away from me so if i go ill be buying it. He wants 350 for it which i think is a good deal. I just wanted to see if it used the same glass as the one piece hardtops I can't believe that no one has ever owned one of these and has any knowledge of the fitment.

The glass is about 350 too. I'd buy one complete for 700 or 800. The way he stores it, I don't think it's worth it. I paid 800 for mine and it's like new. That is with the wiper and defroster OEM.

I bought mine with a 2 piece Steelhorse top that had part of the rear glass missing. Nothing else would fit except for another glass from Steelhorse, who went out of business. I ended up buying a soft top and put the 2 piece top at the curb for trash pickup. That's my only experience with 2 piece tops.

You need to find out who the manufauer is of the top. There are a number of 2 piece tops. The above mentioned Steelhorse, Rally Tops, Bulldawg and Keystone (was Bestop)

Ok so I think I will just look for a complete one piece top I would hate to buy it only to find out that i cant buy a back glass for it and be forced to junk it. And with the glass at about 300 dollars it makes more sense to buy a complete one. I have a 97 is there any year tops that are incompatible with my jeep? I know in 2002 they switched from the vent being on the top to in the body can i buy one of these newer tops?

Yes. The only thing it might do is make the doors harder to shut when the windows are rolled up. I've had plenty of older cars that did the same thing. It's really no big deal.
