Ok so I've read all about the LED dash mod, and how to do it and where to get the bulbs, but no where I have I read any detail about this on a post 2000 TJ, with the red needles on the clusters. Im really thinking about Blue LED's but Im not sure how it will look and if I will no longer be able to see my needles, which are rather vital when you think about it. Can anyone shed some light onto how this looks, or works out. Thanks
I have a 2000 TJ that I did the gauge cluster with red LEDs but its still not all red there are some dim spots and dead areas unlike the pics some of you guys have posted. Any idea what I could have done wrong?
Are you positive that all of the LEDs are lit? What brand/model of LED did you purchase? There are a couple of other threads around here somewhere where people felt as though they were not bright enough.
Silly question, but I'm sure you've got the dash brightness turned up? Is that even possible on the 2000?
The symbols on the factory switches illuminate with the rest of the dash lighting. OD Off and defroster have an orange indicator that illuminates when the switch is on.
The odometer is part of a circuit board and you cannot change it. I have thought about getting a piece of theater/stage lighting gel (colored transparent plastic) to put over it
I forgot, I have an overlay that frames the odometer window. I'd put the gel behind the overlay window. I forgot what the stock cluster face looks like and if you could put a neatly trimmed rectangle of the gel in/on the odometer window.
Damn, i should have never found this site! You people are costing me lots of cash with these mod ideas. But i like it. Thanks
