2000 TJ fender swap using 2006 fenders

Hello all,

I just picked up a 2000 TJ sport , 6 cyl auto with air. The front fenders have the typical rust spots on the flat area of the fender. I picked up a pair of 2006 TJ fenders in perfect condition.. the 06 had the same 6 cyl , auto with air.

Has anyone tried this fender swap ? Are there any major differences that I need to know about or have extra materials on hand for to remount the inner fender mounted components ?

The jeep is in the shop an hr away till late day tomorrow so I cant do a visual comparison at the moment and Im looking to knock this out on Saturday.

Thanks in advance guys !

Some of the holes on the inner fender will be different, but overall, you shouldn't have any "major" issues. I used a set of '97 fenders on my '03 (I didn't want to chop mine up, so I used "take-offs). All major holes were fine, but a few of the smallers ones (like the horn mount) were different.
