2000 tj header suggestions

Looking into headers and I ask u my fellow jeepers for your pros n cons on different brands. I have a banks cat back. Hypertech programmer throttle body spacer n cold air intake as my performance upgrades. Trying to make up power I lost with the bigger tires and all.

there really isnt a good external 4.0 engine mod that is worth the coin...

the stock manifold is already very header like..

^^ agreed, I've fallen into many of the same traps. Re-gear. Wish I had spent my $$ on that.

you can buy all that crap and the only thing you'll be is over a thousand dollars lighter in the wallet....or you can spend that money on regearing and actually be amazed at the real world difference.

Gears ate by far the biggest bang for the buck. HP sells cars and parts but trq wins races and climbs over tree stumps.

Well I have 33's and do alot of driving. Got alot of my mileage back and don't want to go with to big of a gear as I need to go 80-85 on highway as some of the speed limits are 70-75 and if I go to high rpms will scream at me and drink all my fuel. What r your gear suggestions and rpms in the upper speed range. Wish it wasn't my daily driver but with wife n kids can't afford a 3rd vehicle right now thanks for your help

I have an 01 4.0 Auto with airaid cai, throttle body spacer, banks header, and custom made exhaust with superflow muffler. The ONLY thing that gave me more power was my re-gear. Now, I will be honest and say my exhaust IMO sounds much better than stock but wow I wish I would have saved that money and bought a kick ass rear bumper/tire carrier or something!!!

If I have to be the one person to shamefully admit to wastefully spending over a grand on useless crap...so be it As long as my mistakes help someone else I will post them on here.

Unless you are being towed, you are never going to get good mileage in a wrangler going 80-85. As for all that other stuff you bought, you waisted every cent on it. None of that crap will do anything to help you.

On my 97 I have the 4.0, 5 speed with 33" tires and 4.56 gears. Filled up yesterday, figured milage at 15.3. When I was running 31"s with 3.07 gears milage was 15-151/2. Now however, I can actually pull hills in 5th and cruise on the freeway at 65-70 MPH.
