2000 TJ O2 sensor gone bad

my engine light came on a few days ago and i went to my local auto parts store and they hooked up a sensor and told me it was the O2 sensor. but there are two sensors and i dont know which one it is without going to a dealer and spending big bucks. also i think my gas mileage is too low

Replace both. Less then $100 yourself.
The upstream will cause you the most grief-most likely kill your mileage if bad

Your lucky-my 2001 had 4 lol

did they say anything about catalytic converter efficiency? if so, it's the one behind the catalytic converter. if not i'd replace the front one first because it will affect your fuel mileage the most.
Can anyone tell me how the flux capacitor is used to facilitate time travel?
