2002 TJ Seats

I can not get my front seats to lift like they did in my 1990 YJ? Are they not made to do this? They slide forward a few inches & the back of the seat will recline forward. But the seat will not lift to make it easier to get in. Any information on this?? Thanks so much!!!:o

I think its something that they changed. The passenger side on mine will flip and fold but the drivers side doesn't.

Totally different than the YJ. You need to use the pull strap on the outer side of the passenger seat (should be one on the drivers side too) up closer to where your neck would be.

On my 02 only the passenger side flips up. Just click the lever on the back of the seat to flip it up and slide it forward with a little force it will flip up. The only reason why it wouldn't would be because of faulty hardware or aftermarket seat hardware. BRB with pics.

There was another thread just like this one a week or two ago. I got 00 and both of my seats fold. I only pull the strap by where the shoulder level would be and never tried pushing the button.

I've been working at seeing if my driver side will flip. Gave up short of sitting in the back seat and shoving with my legs.

I know it was said, but the TJs don't have the super cool seat lifting properties of the YJ. Don't know why because it is a pretty slick design.

Maybe the YJ brackets would work in a TJ??

Funny why both my seats rise up.. my drivers actually hugs the steering wheel perfectly lol Wird why some tjs drivers fold and why some dont maybe the sport vs x vs sahara vs se etc is the/a difference in the drivers seats

Both the seats fold on the YJ too, but the passengers side will lift up off the mount and raise up too. I don't believe any other model jeep will do it.

I'm gonna have to post a pic this weekend to clear this up.
