2003-2006 Seats in a 1999

Just wondering a quick question, specifically if the seats from a 2003-2006 will mount directly into a 1999 TJ Wrangler. I need new seats, and I like the newer style seats compared to the ones I have. Rather then just get seat covers, I wouldn't mind spending a little extra for some decent seats.

If you have a recommendation for seat covers, definitely let me know that one.

They should fit. Seats never changed much until you get to the JK (07). Our TrailMax seats, for example, fit 76-06.

The Bestop Seat cover, is of course, the bestest seat cover ever made. :-)

Haha, yea but your seats require a bracket for the 1997-2002, and then an additional part for the 2003-2006.

Weren't the seats lowered begining in '03? I made 1.5" risers for my '04 TJ. I'm 5' 9" but I couldn't even see my hood until I raised them.

Oops. That's absolutely correct. You may need to buy a new riser or adapter. My bad. Unless it was a sneaky trick to sell more seat hardware. bwah hah hah

See, I'm THINKING of buying the mounting brackets from you guys and picking up a set of decent YJ seats, or possibly some Mustang or Cavalier seats.

Not so sure I agree with ya on them being the bestest!

I have em for my 97 TJ and the velcro that goes between the base and back portions comes loose as SOON as I get in and sit down. Getting out, it gets the base all bunched up, loose, and looks kinda bad. I really wanted them to work as my Mopar ones gave up the ghost and the regular seats look like crap.

In terms of hiding the ugly 97 SE seats, yeah they're great. On initial fitment, they're okay, but once you sit in em, all bets are off.

Sound like we've got different Bestop seat covers. Mine are vinyl, one piece, no velcro (as far as I remember), and I've got no complaints.

Burton is a bright young man, and I know that he will put a lot more stock in your review, and CarCrazy's, than he ever would in mine.

05GT, mine are one piece too, but there's a flap that goes under the back portion of the seat. It has a velcro strip that attaches to the back of the seat or seat cover. I can only attach it to the seat cover itself and doesn't stay attached for long.

Maybe it is just my seats that suck - cuz they REALLY do. And nobody else has had issues that I know of with the 97-02 seat covers.

If I had my choice, I'd go with new seats from Bestop or PRP.

This is a video from a well respected eBay seller of wrangler parts. Take a look, he states they will mount in perfectly of the older TJ styles.
