2004 Jeep Rocky Mountain Edition

I picked this up a few days ago, and after some mods, here are the pics.

Completed:

1. 31x10.50 Maxxis Buckshot tires on factory installed Alcoa wheels
2. Mopar front/rear bumper caps
3. Front/rear floor mats
4. Rugged Ridge standard fender flares (wide Rubicon flares came on the Jeep, but they looked rough)
5. Door sill guards
6. Finally, a good wash and wax

Next: (6 months down the road)

2.5" Lift
32" tires
Whatever I may think of or what others may recommend!

Lift???

I'm unsure what lift I will install. I am in the U.S. Army and preparing to deploy to Qatar next month, so any mods are on hold right now. I plan on installing the lift during my R&R (vacation) sometime during the spring and install new rims and 32" tires when I return home in August.

I like the Maxxis Buckshot 31x10.50 tires and had all 4 installed for $530. However, I'll probably end up with some type of all-terrain tire installed when I go up to 32s. The Jeep was still running the factrory tires and they were bald when the last owner traded the vehicle. The dealer installed street tires prior to selling the Jeep and they looked very out of place. The Maxxis Buckshot tires are a near-term cheap solution and I'll be able to easily sell them on Craigs List along with the Alcoa rims. I just sold the street tires that the dealer installed on Craigs List this morning.

looks sick man, there is a 2.5" lift that Old man emu makes and they have the best riding shocks for a jeep, I would highly recomend that, I have the BFG all terrain tires and they are great they last forever it's good for me since its my DD and I hit the trails every now and then I just stay away from mud, they cake up pretty nicely, yeah man look into the old man emu lift kit, and thank you for your service brother

Dude! You have saved me a ton of angst and time. I have the red 2004 RME with the Alcoas. Mine has the gray painted flares that I absolutely hate and am looking at various brands/styles. The black flares look awesome! I already have a 2.5" lift and am considering going with 32 or 33" tires but there is no way I'm getting rid of the Alcoa rims! 2004 was the last year (only year?) they were used. I may go with the wider flares depending on whether I go with 10.5 or 11.5 or even 12.5 tire width. Get home safe and post more pics!

Why not just get a can of black satin Krylon paint for plastic, or Plasticote Black satin. either remove your fenders, lightly sand, wipe off, and spray paint, or mask them off with masking tape and newspaper, sand, wipe off, and paint. the black satin is between flat and gloss black. (it looks like flat black that's been armoral'ed)

In my opinion, and others it seems, go with the 2 inch OME suspension lift. You will be completely satisfied with the way it rides on and off road. You can then add some other minor mods to it after that and still have a nice riding Jeep.

Yes I agree, if you've got the mula ($) the Old Man Emu kit would be the best way to go, if not then the skyjacker 2" BBL with shocks for $261, & still get the smooth factory ride. you can get it at Quadratec for that price. I'll be doing the Skyjacker kit, will post pics.

Nice looking Jeep! I dig that color.
And those are 31x10.5x15's? I'm going to be upgrading my tires on both need and want here within the next couple months. I have 30x9.5x15 and seeing your ride, I'm convinced the 31x10.5's are the way I want to go. I'm thinking the duratracs.
