Question 2004 Rubicon Lift/Gas Mileage question...

Hey guys, newb here.

Been having my jeep for about four months now, and im getting tired of this stock look...so i want a lift! im looking at a 4" lift with 33" BF Goodrich All Terrains and i would like to know exactly how BAD am i looking at a drop in gas mileage? im getting roughly 19/21 mpg right now...and im expecting the worst.

All the best,

Reclaimer

With a rubi you have the 4.11 gears, so that helps. You will drop, but not a whole lot if you baby it.

so my gears will actually help me out with that? alot of people have told me that those gears will be the death of my mpg alltogether but if this is true, then thats great.

Well having 4.11's with 33's compared to my 32's and 3.07's... you'd probably be getting much better mileage than I.... plus you have the 4-speed auto, and I a 3-speed.

I wish I was getting that good of gas milage
I have 35's with 4.56 gears and the 3speed auto
my last tank full was 160 miles the tank before that I got 130 miles and that was with me driving like an old man

when I bought the jeep it had 33's and 3.07 gears I was getting around 120-130 miles per tank full
sometimes I can get 180 miles per tank full but thats not to often

it sucks when you fill it up and after 20 miles your down 1/4 tank

Allthough it cost me $60 to fill up and its only 14 gallons Ive never put more then 15 gallons in my tank even if I run out and have to be towed into the gas station (next time I will bring 3 gas cans instead of 2)

yep. i had a tahoe 2dr before i had my jeep, and i never had to worry about where the next gas station was before i headed out on a trip...but now that my tank is 15 gallons instead of 28 it made me think wether or not i was really getting good mpg.

Mine does the same thing and there are a few posts here on it. My light goes on at 15 gallons and the tank capacity is 19 + the filler tube.

I've run my Jeep down (bent the fuel needle if you will) and refilled with 18 gallons and did not run empty.
