2005 4 banger in search of bigger tires

Alright guys...I'll ask the question since I haven't seen the thread on here yet.

I have the 4 angry squirrels (2.4L) on the stock 15 x 7 rims w/P215/75R-15tires.
I'm going with the pro comp 8179 rims.
I want 31 x 10.5 x 15 BFG All Terrains. My question(s) is this:

(1) Will the 31 inch BFG fit without any modifications?
(2) Which size rim should I get, the 15 x 8 or the 15 x 10?
Keeping in mind that I would prefer to have the tire extending beyond the fender.
(3) Will the spare tire carrier fit the 31 inch BFG? Or do I have to remove the tail light?

I will not be using the jeep for any serious off roading (no airing down). Mainly highway use with a few dirt roads.

Thanks in advance...I appreciate all of the information.

Well I would normally say that for a 10.50 tire to go with the 8" wide rims. I would say to buy rims with less backspacing so that they can stick out more. 3.75" of backspacing on your 8" rims with a 10.50 tire should look good on your rig.

And if you are buying new rims then nope there are no modifications you need to make to clear 31's.
