2005 unlimited - where to buy a top?

I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a TJ purchase - I've narrowed it down to either a 2003 Wrangler (Liberty edition), or a 2005 Wrangler Unlimited.

Both are soft tops, and will probably last a little while, but will eventually need to be replaced. Soft tops for a plain Wrangler seem to be easy to find, and I've found hardtops for sale both new and used. I'm assuming any hardtop from 1998-2006 will fit?

Tops for the 2005 Unlimited seem to be pretty scarce, soft or hard. I'm assuming that the top is different for an unlimited, due to its longer length, correct?

Does anyone make a Hardtop for a 2005 Unlimited? Or is it rare enough that finding parts are a problem?

I bought an 06 Unlimited last year with 21000 miles on it. It apparently was a toy that didn't get driven much. I took my hardtop off last summer to pull up the softtop. It had never been done before because there were instructions for "installation before use.." I put it together, pulled it up, ....ok, where are the windows..? I called the previous owner and he searched his garage. I've got a brand new/unused top (black) that doesn't have the door surrounds or back or side windows. Is that worth $200? It's been rolled in it's cover, sitting in my basement next to the box for my new Supertop NX. Sounds like you have everything mine doesn't. You could rehab your windows with my top and look like new.

I've been trying to put it on the classifieds but my post count is too low otherwise I would have put it on by now.

When I was looking for mine in early '09 I found the dealer had the best price. Got the employee discount which helped a lot & they delivered it to my place 20 miles away for no extra cost. It came in a large crate & they are heavy so I don't know how much shipping would have been from an aftermarket place but not cheap, I'm sure!

I would never trade my unlimited for any other TJ.

Guys, Quadratec has options for soft tops for the LJ, if you have the original hardware, two framless soft tops and 3 options with hardware.

Jeep Soft Tops - Quadratec

Plus, Quadratec is a forum sponsoring vendor and offers discounts to forum members. Check out the website, but you need to call and talk to them once you have decided on which top you want.
