265x75x15 tires

2003 Jeep TJ Wrangler with 15" alloy wheels and 225x75x15 original tires. With no other alteration, will replacing tires with 265x75x15's result in any rubbing anywhere?

I had 215/75R15's on mine stock. I put 245/75R16's on and wasn't even close to rubbing with a 4" back spacing. Are you using factory wheels? knowing the back spacing and offset will make a difference. I have always heard and even seen up to 33's with no rubbing but that doesn't leave you much flexing room for off roading.

those tires will be fine, they measure at 30.5 actual inches.

It's close to matching a 31x10.5 tire. Should not be any issues.
Why not just buy some 31's?

That's the size I have on my Wrangler right now - with stock Ravine rims & no lift. Firestone Winterforce. No issues at all.

You will have more choices in they type tire you are likely to want if you look at non metric sizes (isn't there a word for that?) Why can I not think of that word? It has eluded me for weeks now.... someone help a girl out, please!

You have more choices in metric tire sizes, yes, but there isn't really that much of a noticable difference. Especially when you are trying to go bigger on your jeep.
Plus, here in the Great United States, we measure things in inches!!! Not Metric!!!
And why is the tires wheel size in inches, but the height and width in metric?
Whoever came up with metric tire sizes ate a bowl of stupid for breakfast that morning!!

Bone stock 99 SE with 2.5L. 265 75 R 15's no rubbing at all.
It did suck what little power the 2.5L has but you shouldn't rub anywhere.

Just my two cents: I agree with T-BONE N BIXBY, go with 31" tires instead of the metric sizes that nobody can understand without thinking about it for ten minutes.

I'm not shilling for those folks, I've never done business with them. I found it helpful to be able to compare the sizes I was interested in. A lot of manufacturers have drastically cut back on flotation sizes and moved toward metric sizing. That's why I ended up with the Firestone Winterforce in the metric size. I had them on my Dakota (when they were Dayton Winterforce) and they were great tires on ice.

Metric tires wight more exspecially when you got to have a bigger wheel to go with it. Some may not care but the weight saves gas mileage and stress on your axles. Just my .02cents

I've only had them on the LJ since November. So far they still look prettty fresh. I haven't measured the tread depth, just going by the calibrated eyeball. I'll be switching them for MTR's shortly.

Oh, ok. I've heard it was hard on snow/ice tires to run them on dry pavement. That's why I asked.
