2inch Body Lift Questions

I would like to lift my automatic TJ with a 2 inch body lift....for now and I would like to know what problems would I run into when installing it. Would it be difficult to engage my 4 wheel drive? Who sells the best kits that have little or no problems? thank you

You will have to adjust the location (lower) of your fan shroud and extend your fuel hose leading to the filler neck. You will also have to adjust your transfer case shifter or relocate its position using a bracket. Performance Accessories sells complete bodylifts.

You have an older model TJ and your coils may experience some sagging. I'd advise against the bodylift and would recommend a 2" suspension lift. Most people will advise not to go taller than 1.25" when selecting a bodylift height.

Instead of messing around with the body lift, just get a budget boost kit! I ran one for a couple years (03 rubicon) and it looked sharp and no problems with any linkage. Now have a 4" lift-springs, etc. but because I didn't do a body lift there were no problems, like engine lift, radiator lift, etc. etc.....

What extra things would you have to do, if you already had a three inch suspension lift, and then wanted to add a 1.25" inch body lift?

Just a bracket for the transfer case shifter or you could possibly forgo, and manually adjust the linkage. Fan shroud adjustment too, unless you elect to install a motor mount lift (MML) and then you can pretty much disregard the fan shroud adjustment and I believe the transfer case shifter adjustment.

I did a 1" daystar body lift. Had to adjust the fan shroud, extend the filler and vent hoses for the tank, install the transfercase shift relocation bracket, and then your shifter sits an inch lower as well...
