3.73's with 285/75/16?

I am running a 2004 Unlimited LJ 4.0 auto with a limited slip(?) 3.73's (diff tag says) with the 285/75/16 and am wondering if that is the right set up or do i go down to the 265/75/16 as new shoes are needed soon. It is fairly snappy. but would it benefit me to go the 265's for better fuel mileage? The PO set this up as i got it with 83,000 on it and have since put bumpers and a winch on. Any info would help .Thanks guys.

If its stock suspension the 285s will rub for sure off roading, your speedo is likely off a bit too.
