3" Zone done. Couple Pics.

Well I finally finished it. Now I just need to get it aligned tomorrow morning. Still about an inch of play in the steering and cant figure it out for the life of me. Hopefully that alignment will help a bit. Here are some pics. First two are stock. Second two are after the lift.

Looks good. It is possible you got more than 3" due to stock spring sag etc.

good point! I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Gotta hop in the driver's seat now. Can't just get in that easily. especially the girlfriend, she's only 5'1"

about that slight slop in the steering though. Any of you other folks have that problem after installing the lift? I'm trying to avoid death wobble at all costs.

I know what you mean. After my 3.75" lift and 33's I swing myself in and have to hop out. I'm 6' tall too. My poor girlfriend has to climb in and she is 5'5". I can't even imagine how difficult it would be for a 5'1" person. Get her a grab handle on the roll bar!

What kind of steering slop are you experiencing?

That is what I had to do. When I go visit my parents my mom likes to ride in the Jeep but she is 5'2" and an older person so she can't lift her leg up that high so I got some grab handles just to help.

You may want to do the alignment yourself. Many people here convinced me to do it last weekend, and it was a piece of cake.

Saved $85, thanks to the good people around here!

LOOKS GREAT!!!!

Any vibes from the rear with that slip yoke? just curious... LOOKS GREAT!!!!

I noticed the T-case drop and just wondering if that did the trick for you and didn't need to mod the shaft at all.

oh ya... x2 on the self-alignment.... to easy to pay for it...

I dont think I should have any trouble with the shaft or vibrations in the rear. I havent driven it yet, just moved it in my driveway. Maybe someone else can jump in and answer that question for you. I'll be honest, I dont do much offroading at all. The tcase drop works fine for me. I mostly wanted to change the stance of my jeep is all. Thanks for all the compliments

the steering slop is just a little play in the steering wheel. I'd say it has a good inch of play before the actual tires begin to turn. I checked every bolt. everything is snug.

That's really strange. You have enough power steering fluid right? I know my steering wheel is very fast and if I move it left to right about an inch it shakes the Jeep depending on how fast I'm going.

I had slop in mine to after this lift until I got it aligned. I even had death wobble on the way to the alignment shop. After everything got lined up I have had no major issues, There is still a little wobble in the steering wheel. I am going to check the tires again for proper balance and go from there. I don't think my wobble has anything to go with the lift.

I do have a bit of advice when drilling the holes for the rear track bar relocation bracket. If you dont have a right angle drill and dont mind ruining one of your drill bits, just cut the drill bit in half and you will have enough room to fit a drill in there.

haven't driven it until after the alignment tomorrow but I'll let you know. I purchased the hydro shocks. I dont do a lot of offroad driving either so I dont really need the stiffer ride.

question for anyone who knows, If I'm driving to work at 60mph and have death wobble, does that equal driver death as well? All those DW videos have me paranoid now. Will I know if my track bar becomes loose? symptoms?

it will scare the poo out of you but you should be able to control it to a stop on the side of the road.

install was pretty easy. The hardest part was just getting the old stuff off. Used an entire can of pb blaster when the lift was done. Would I wanna do it again? Not really. Very labor intensive if this is your first time dealing with suspension components.

Gosh, I feel sorry for you poor boys in the snow belt!

In Phoenix, parts come off like they are supposed to.

I've never used a can of PB Blaster. Lol

Lift gets here Friday!!! Should install saturday!!! I've looked at this thread at least twice a day since you've posted haha...cant wait!

I cant take credit for my install though...i found a guy that works at Denver Jeep that is going to put it on for me and do the alignment for 150 so thats well worth it to me to not have to do it in a garage without air tools or a lift...

absolutely cant wait haha...

The guy is calling tomorrow to confirm saturday or if it'll be the weekend after...if he tells me the week after, i think i may cry
