32" tires on a 2006 Rubicon?

Despite searching, I cannot determine if 32" tires will fit on an unmodified, unlifted, Rubicon. I am considering replacing the original 245/75/16 tires with 235/85/16 tires (approximately 1" larger diameter, but slightly narrower). I am hoping that the slightly narrower tire will avoid rubbing, despite the larger diameter. Does anyone have experience with this combination? Thank you.

No, they will rub, 31x10.50 is the biggest an unlifted TJ or Rubicon can handle without significant rubbing. Even a 31x10.50 can rub enough that the steering stops need to be adjusted to stop the rubbing. You'll need a 1" body lift or 1" spacers on your springs to insure they don't rub.

And you'll likely need to do this too to prevent them from rubbing if you use the stock wheels... Jeep Steer Stop Adjustment
