I never regeared mine because I am swapping in two new axles, doing a custom tummy tuck and quite a few other things. I found the gears to be tolerable and useable. honestly the OP is just gona have to do it and find out for himself.

Just gonna go ahead and swap out to the 8.8. $1200 for that, (includes regearing the front) sounds like a good deal. Than I won't have to worry about it anymore.
