Looking at them funny doesn't usually hurt, its' the tow straps,rocks, mud, bugs and trees that take their toll. If the plain ones are cheaper, just get them and diy, cause no matter what you get, if they are on the Jeep for anything other than pics, they will show signs of wear anyway, and need repainting. Gosh, it takes about 2 minutes to do, and $3 of spray paint will last a long, long time for them....

I'm not opposed to DIY. Grab handles, bezels, fender flares, sub box, tub hurculiner, so one more maintenance Thingy shouldn't be a problem. I was just trying to find a thick paint that would look better and not rub off on the black bumper.
