And its rated for 35s with a 2" lift

Metalcloak is about half the price, easier to install and you can run 35's on stock suspension

My bad direct from thier add........

"Run bigger rubber with less suspension lift. This ultimate upgrade for all '97-06 Wranglers makes plenty of clearance for 34" tires with no lift! Add a 3" lift and run 37" tires! Provides an ultra low center of gravity for greater safety and vehicle stability while creating a unique and balanced look."

Yes

But seriously in that range your in the middle of the power band, and thats where you want to be. Now if you were pushin close to 4k then I'd be worried.

Same here with my last jeep.. That's why I was worried with this lift and gears. But I am guessing it a norm with my setup

35" tires and 4.88's = 3k @ 60mph. 2000 with 3spd auto.

Solution (see picture)

Its ok in 4lo could be lower. Getting 13 to high 14 mpg. I also have A CAI that I think is killing my mileage. The power driving around could be better and 5th is almost useless. Its good for down hill, flat and cruising. I also have 33x10.5 so I think having less weight and rolling resistance might be helping me a little. I've heard people with my set up but 12.5 say it sucks and has no power. I just did a Jeep jamboree in September in Colorado like this and it did good. When I can I will be regearing.. it'd be nice to use 5th and be in the power band.

It's all in the setup. I'm running 35's an OME 2.5" with .75 spacers, tummy tuck, Metalcloaks, Currie AR, ARB lockers, coil relo, out boarded shocks with proper limit straps and bump stops. With 4.88's, I can cruise 75-80 on the highway, drive 1,000 miles to Colorado, air down and climb like a goat. I love the setup, and plan on trimming my lower CA mounts and body mounts before I go any higher. IMO, the next level would be front and rear stretch, long arms and Dana 60's on 40's, but that is an extremely expensive jump from where I'm at now and would probably be better served going with a purpose built buggie.

Or you can DIY for free. It requires minimal fab work. I like my 4.10s with the 6 speed and 35s. With 31s, it was too much gear. 1st was worthless, and even now I skip first about half the time.

Nice solution. 35" with 4.88 and the 3-speed auto is what my previous TJ had. Superb offroad, highway RPMs were a tad high. I only had that combination because it originally had the 5-speed and I later swapped to the automatic after it already had the 4.88 gears. 4.56 would have been ideal but...

When I win the lottery I might change the gears. It does climb well.
