35" tires and 4.88 Gears shift pattern.

Anyone else running 35" tires and 4.88 gears with a 4.0 auto? Mine just refuses to go into 3rd gear. At 50mph it will shift from 2nd into 3rd (for not even a second) and go into 4th. Even if I get on it and turn off OD it will go straight to 2nd. Any ideas on why this is happening? It doesnt really bug me I just would like it not to bog down on the freeway when cruising?

That particular transmission is notorious for that problem. I have the same combination, 35 inch tires and 4.88 gearing with the same transmission and it does the same thing. That problem pretty much goes away with 5.38 gearing with 35" tires but the axles that come stock on our jeeps cannot be geared that low.

Its just an odd feeling, getting on the freeway get up to 50 and it decides to shift into 4th instead of 3rd and the long crawl up to highway speed.
