If you wheel it... NO. But just regular gingerly street driving isnt going to make your Jeep explode... Look into a super 35 or at least superior shafts or some kind of upgrade for the d35 if getting a new rear is out of the question. I wouldnt run it, even on the street, for very long.

I have seen people blow up on the street. People in the club here have ran the super 35 kit with 35's and I have not seen them break, but you never know when it could happen.

You will year of guys that have been running 40s on the Dana 35 for 20 years without issues, and guys that broke their Dana 35 by staring at it for too long in the parking lot with stock tires...

I have bent axle shafts in a Dana 35 with an open diff and 33s, so I personally would never run that combination.

Superior Super35 can handle 35's, I wouldn't go taller though...

I'm running 35s on my D35 right now. Mind you, I'm on an open carrier, undergeared 4 cyl w/4.10s and I REFUSE to go offroad with it until I go back my 33s or upgrade the rearend (saving up for an 8.8 as we speak). I also don't drive daily. Just some thoughts...

i wouldn't recommend it. i have been running been running 33's for about a year and a half with 3.07's and my spider gears are toast. Also when i go play it is normally 4-low heavy on the skinny pedal and lots of wheel spin (mud).

i haven't had any other issues with the front or rear other than my spiders are shot.

I know a guy who runs front and rear Dana 44 rubicon axles, he also just switched to 37's... I asked him how he liked them, and he said don't do it, it cost's way to much, and lots of money later and he still isn't happy. He mentioned bump stops, and steering stops, and then some other people started asking him some stuff and he dropped the subject. I don't know what all of his reasons were, but he made it clear he wouldn't have done it if he had have known not to before hand.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but the question of durability comes to mind.

I wouldn't run 37's on a D44. Even with moly axles.

Spinning tires is easy, suddenly stopping those spinning tires when they get bound up off road is what sucks.

You must be either a teenager or rich to be able to do abusive axleshaft-threatening stuff like that on purpose.

If you're thinking of saving to buy a 44 or 8.8 then buy the 35s and run them until you either save enough or kill your Dana 35. Once you have enough money or your 35 is dead then buy a Dana 44/ford 8.8/Dana 60

whats better - saving the money for the better axle & having no issues, or breaking an axle shaft and needing a tow home?

not to mention theres more to 35's than just bolting them up....steering & brakes to mention some important parts...
