3rd Brake Light Mod

I have never been a big fan of these big rectangular third brake lights on ANY vehicle. To me, they're pretty ugly and sort of cheapen the look of the vehicle. So I was just getting ready to ditch mine, and put an LED tail light in place of my center cap on my spare tire. Not sure if any of you have seen that done, but it comes out looking pretty cool, as the light reflects off the wheel.

However,
I saw Daanbc do this mod about a week ago or so.
It caught my eye, so I had to try it out for myself.
I'm glad I did, I really like it.
It's a custom cut-out that goes over your third brake light. You can get them made to say whatever you want, but have to keep it relatively short so the letters stay a good size. The ones that I bought are a glossy black finish, so it matches up with my ORO tail lights very well during the day, and when you hit the brake pedal it really stands out.
Now, I don't mind that third brake light at all. :)

Thanks again for the great idea Dave. :D

I got mine from custombrakelights on ebay, for $8 with free shipping.
Comes out of Canada, so it takes about a week, but that's not very long really.
They also have a website you can order them from directly, just add .com on the back of the name. I think they are $10 directly though, plus shipping. So it's best if you can find them on Ebay. Be careful though. They have 2 different adds on ebay. One for $8 and one for $10.

There's another one on Ebay that is American based, but the only style that it looks like they carry is the Carbon Fiber print. I prefer the glossy black, that's why I ordered from the other one.

That's funny- I was just saying to the wife that I need to fabricate a padding for my elbow. I have been looking to see if anyone was selling them. All i found were one's for the new jeeps. So i figure i'll go to the garment shop pick up some material/foam/wood, and make my own. I did it awhile ago (13 years) on the wife's toyota mr2.
