4.0 spark plugs

What are the best spark plugs for the 4.0

There is no magic plug for the 4.0L as far as I know.
Best advice I've gotten here is to stick as close to OEM as possible. I followed that advice and never looked back, running like a champ. I stuck with copper.
This is a case where cheaper actually is better.

Copper works fine, the right model platinum & iridium-tipped plugs work fine too... they just last 3-4X as long as conventional plugs do.

I just checked the records for my '01 Sahara.
Last plugs I put in were Autolite Copper 985. They cost $1.71 each.

OMG, you saved $2.80 per plug for a grand savings of $16.80 over what I paid for my iridium-tipped XP985 plugs. Wow, I was barely able to afford that additional $16.80 for plugs that will outlast those conventional plugs by 4-5X.

That works out to me having paid 2.6X more for a spark plug that will perform well for a proven 4-5X as long. I guess I'm just not as penny-wise as you.

Valid point fer sure.
The only irony here is that I followed your advice when I last changed plugs.
I'm happy with copper and if I get another 100K out of this engine I'll be very satisfied.
I value your advice here very much and always appreciate your views Jerry.
This site has helped me tremendously during the short time I've been here thus far.

Single-platinum tipped like the Autolite AP985 or Champion 3034 are perfect for '99 or older distributor-equipped 4.0L engines, so is the iridium XP985. The first two are good for 100k miles, the iridium is looking like it'll be performing well pretty close to 200k miles.
